Rhubarb Tincture

A POTENT RHUBARB EXTRACT, ADDED BY THE DROP.

Tinctures are simple infusions that are of high potency, but used in low quantities. Much like bitters, tinctures should be used a few dashes at a time in a cocktail to add complexity or flavor, but not enough to greatly alter the proof of the cocktail.

Ingredients:

1 lb fresh rhubarb
1 ½ c. of EVERCLEAR® Grain Alcohol

Instructions:

First, roughly chop 1 pound of fresh rhubarb into small chunks and place into a quart-sized mason jar. Then, pour in EVERCLEAR and seal tightly. Let steep in a cool, dry place for two weeks.

Once infused, strain into a clean, sealable container. Now you’re ready to move on to the Rhubarb Whiskey Sour.

Prep: 5 min. Steep: 2 weeks
Yield: About 1 cup
